The Cancer Center is a comprehensive radiation treatment facility featuring the latest advances in technology. The Center is conveniently located in the heart of Tomball Regional Medical Center. Our program is specifically designed to work in partnership with medical oncologists, surgeons, and other medical professionals involved in your treatment to assure a well-planned, accurate and multidisciplinary delivery of therapy. The Cancer Center can help you cope with your diagnosis to ensure the most positive prognosis. Our specially trained staff is available every step of the way to support, encourage and enable patients and their families to face the future.
Valuable Education Information
The Cancer Center believes in the value of information as part of successful treatment and prevention. A library complete with books, videos and computers, containing cancer specific information, allow patients, family members, and the community at large to access up-to-date educational resources about the treatment and prevention of Cancer The Center also houses the office for the American Cancer Society/Martha Conn Tomball Unit.
The Cancer Center also believes that it is important to receive support from other individuals who are undergoing the same experience. Support groups are facilitated by a healthcare professional and provide the opportunity for individuals to learn about cancer-related topics, listen to guest speakers and share common experiences in a supportive atmosphere. The Latest Treatment Advances
At The Cancer Center, our patients receive treatments utilizing state-of-the-art equipment, like that used in the top cancer hospitals in the Texas Medical Center.
CT/Stimulation combines two technologies into one unit and allows doctors to better define a tumor’s location.
3-D Treatment Planning computers assist the physician and his or her team in preparing the best plan of radiation doses to the tumor while sparing normal tissues.
Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT) is an advanced treatment method with the ability to deliver precise doses of radiation to tumors, including tumors near vital organs or other sensitive areas, while minimizing the effect on healthy tissues.
High Dose Rate Brachytherapy (HDR): The Cancer Center offers HDR brachytherapy to gynecological cancer patients, and MammoSite Brachytherapy to breast cancer patients. In addition, patients with head and neck cancer, gynecological cancer, pulmonary cancer, and other local regional tumors can be considered for HDR brachytherapy on an individual basis.
This complete package of technology and equipment works collectively, allowing physicians to quickly and accurately determine the best and most effective course of treatment.
