Patient Education Services

Community Education Services

We offer several community education programs on a variety of Hot Topics including, but not limited to, Childbirth and Parenting Education, Disease Specific Classes, Fitness and Exercise Programs, Health Screening Exams, Support Groups, Women’s Health and much more. View Upcoming Events…

TRH Patient Education Channels

Patients can access TRH Patient Education Channels on the televisions located in patient rooms. Patient Education Channels provide patients access to information regarding cancer, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, stress, and other healthcare topics.

Employee Education and Training Programs

New Hire Orientation programs

General Orientation: 1 day required for all hospital employees followed by a department specific orientation designed to meet the needs of the employee.
Nursing Orientation: didactic and clinical program tailored to meet the needs of each RN, LVN, CNA, and NA in conjunction with an assigned preceptor.

Continuing Education: programs with/without CEUs for variety of disciplines

Health.edu, Internet based learning service designed to assist employees in meeting annual education requirements and obtain contact hours (approved by national accreditation boards) for license renewal. Employees have access to over 400 online programs.

Provide one-on-one education assistance for employees with identified learning needs
Serve as a liaison for local high school and college level healthcare programs by assisting instructors with setting up clinical rotations.

Libraries

Education Media Library – educational programs available for a variety of disciplines.
MDConsult - provides electronic access to books, journals, drugs, news, current practice, patient handouts and CME center.
Hospital Library – there are over 400 print books and 60 current print journal subscriptions.

Continuing Medical Education

Tomball Regional Medical Center partners with VHA Southwest and other accredited programs to provide multiple CME programs to the medical staff on an annual basis.

Continuing Professional Education – Internships, Residencies, and Fellowships
The focus of Tomball Regional Medical Center’s education programs is to train competent, caring healthcare professionals who will be fulfilled by their healthcare careers. We partner with several entities to offer internships, residency and fellowship programs.

Residency Programs

Podiatry Residency:

Established in 2005, affiliated with Lepow Foot and Ankle Specialists

Residents rotate through surgical procedures and round with our attending podiatrists

Fellowship
Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship, sponsored by Tomball Regional Medical Center and administered by Conroe Medical Education Foundation has accepted its first Fellow in July 2006. The fellowship program is a 1-year engagement where the fellow gains experience in orthopedics, radiology, nutrition, physical and occupational therapy and rehabilitation. The fellow is trained to manage or treat many active people with an emphasis on safe return to play after illness or injury. In addition, the fellow will also be involved in many research projects related to fitness and concussion management for athletes.
